Level Up Gosport

about us

Level Up Gosport – charity number: 1199682

We are very proud and delighted to announce that we are recipients of The King’s Award for Voluntary Service, which is the highest award a local, voluntary group can receive in the UK and is equivalent to an MBE

Level Up Gosport has been established for 12 years, supporting young adults aged between 18 – 25 years, that have an additional need, (hidden, neurodivergent) or physical disability; or have mental health challenges, like low self-esteem or high anxiety levels to gain self-respect and confidence via volunteering within the community for local charities, organisations and at local group activities.

We are very proud that many of the vulnerable young members Level Up Gosport has supported via community volunteering have gone on to secure employment.

Level Up Gosport was previously known as Loud and Proud.

Our success rate...why choose us?

…Over the 12 years since we have been established – 80% of our young members we have supported have moved on into either sustained employment; returned to full-time education and/or independent volunteering…

“I think the volunteering I did with Level Up Gosport has helped me to get the job I have always wanted.” Julie

We support young adults aged between 18 – 25 years, that have an additional need or physical disability; or have mental health challenges like low self-esteem or anxiety, and are NOT in receipt of an Education, Health & Care Plan (EHCP), or receive High Needs Funding from the local authority.  Go to our CONTACT US page or click the email address to contact us, if you would like to find out more about the support we offer.

WEXi (Work EXperience initiative)

We have recently developed WEXi (Work EXperience initiative) by partnering with local businesses, organisations and charities to provide an outcomes-based programme of employability skills to enable the young people we support to move on into employment.

HiQ: Tyres and Autocare Gosport – garage – mechanical, valeting and repair skills;

Gosport Borough Council – Parks & Gardens Department – horticulture – maintaining the parks and gardens in Gosport;

C2U Gosport – a local not-for-profit organisation supporting the vulnerable, homeless and veteran individuals; they also offer specialised, free events that encourage the community of Gosport to make special memories that will last for a lifetime – customer service; event planning & training;

The Carisbrooke Arms – a local Gosport pub – bar skills and general duties;

Abbeyfield Sheltered Housing – catering, kitchen skills and occupational therapy;

Thehub4stuff – furniture collection for redistribution and re-purposing – customer service and community engagement;

Gosport Community Association – gardening, decorating, administration, bar work and event management;

Gosport Community Cinema – social media, event management and sound desk skills;

Communities against Cancer – presentation skills, team work and community involvement.

…Our charity’s ethos is to provide our members with a social pathway into employment, that is cost effective and eventually not reliant on grant funding…

Through the volunteering achieved by our members, they have saved the local economy thousands in the necessity of waging staff to support local events and activities; and through our charity’s endeavours to encourage them to find employment – we have saved the DWP many, many thousands in benefits.
